I Want To Work With You!

Dear Friends,

In December, several West Virginia political leaders called urging me to seek the office of State Senator,13th District. I went to Charleston to speak to some of the senators and other officials. They were very convincing about our chances of winning the 13th district. After careful consideration and many family discussions, I have decided to accept this challenge before me.

Being actively involved in business and community since the early eighties, I have sought to create an effective environment in our district for our businesses and our people. I have worked with community groups and organizations to enhance our quality of life and create a more business-friendly environment. I have worked with businesses in industry, wholesale, retail, tourism and construction , both privately and professionally, during my years in the community.

My family, friends and I now feel the time has come for me to offer myself as a servant in the public arena. I am hopeful I can bring common-sense ideas straight from the people to the West Virginia State Senate. As you may know, I have always been actively involved in creating change in our community. I have worked with the schools in every way I can to get students involved in the community. My hope is to bring education to the forefront.

Another area of interest includes the atmosphere for businesses and families in West Virginia. We are chasing our best assets out of and away from this state. Families, business and industry must have an atmosphere in which they are able to grow and succeed. Young families must be able to do more than survive financially; they must be allowed to prosper.

Finally, it’s time to bring back the family farm. West Virginia once fed itself almost entirely from within our borders, even producing some exports. And we produced high-quality organic meats and produce before organic was a thing. We need to find ways to help market our crops and livestock without creating yet another government-subsidized program.

It will take a strong and dedicated grassroots organization to be successful in this endeavor. I believe the voters of this district will step forward, with my family and friends, in a united volunteer effort. As you may have guessed, my sons, family and friends are already hard at work designing flyers, building winning strategies and helping prepare for the road ahead. They have volunteered to knock on doors, place yard signs and, of course, participate in upcoming parades.

With thousands of brochures to purchase, hundreds of yard signs to order, scores of radio ads to place and two counties to cover, I will need help. I am turning to you, the people who have known me the longest, who know me best, and humbly inviting you to get involved in my campaign and help make a difference.

Your early contribution made payable to “John Provins for State Senate” will give our race a tremendous boost right out of the starting block. A gift of $25, $50, $100, $250, $500, $1,000 or any amount up to $2,800 will help me raise the vital “early seed money” I need to successfully run this campaign.

Together we can forge a bright future for West Virginia!

Thank you for your support
